The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, was sponsored by Wildwood, N.J. Flotilla 83 at a meeting that took place in the part of Thomas J. Scardone's Boat Rental and Marina on Channel Road, Avalon Manor. On October 5, 1963 at Carter's Restaurant, Route 9, Swainton, N.J. over one hundred relatives, friends, and dignitaries were present as the first members were sworn in as Charter Members of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 86. |
